Self-Care Checklist to help us Keep Going

One thing I thought would be nice to address are ways I process emotions. (Actually, it was an idea from a friend!) Everyone has their bad days but, when it prolongs for weeks that’s when we need an action plan. I have put together a little self-care checklist that help me stay sane during the insane phases :)

  1. It’s very important to become aware that we are not in a good mood. Other people are quick to say we are in ‘some kind of’ mood BUT, do we know?

  2. When we are not in a beautiful mood, I like to lay low. When we are emotional, it gets us nowhere and we need to pause. (I said this in one of my posts). The things we end up doing or saying never end up being rational and we will regret it later. So, I TRY to not engage much. Keyword here is try. There will always be some victims (partners/ parents/ friends etc) along the way who have no choice lol

  3. Intentionally, giving ourselves grace because it can get emotionally draining sometimes and being productive is the last item on the list. Our minds are tuned that the hustle culture is the best but honestly, some days we have to take it slow.

  4. Finding and doing things that make us happy:

    • Heartfulness Meditation - brings a smile to my face

    • TV Series - I have watched through so many series at this point. (An avid TV addict lol and any more recommendations are very much appreciated)

    • Music - When our thoughts become loud, music becomes our best friend!

    • Reading through ‘Whispers from the Brighter World’ - very motivating and helped me to keep going. Highly recommend if you are spiritually inclined

  5. If we try to avoid our emotions than the more, it will come back. I will always run the opposite direction than to face something but, it always comes back in the end. We need to feel those emotions. Face that situation. And then move on. (Trust me, running away doesn’t work :)

  6. Trust the divine timings more than our plan and everything will end up being good

I think life is about perspectives anyway. We can be in such a dreadful situation but, the way we take it is everything. The very first step is to be self-aware though. Let me know what you do and follow along.
