What do you envision when you picture God?

I had an idea of what I wanted to say since this question was asked. But it has taken me the longest of time to put it into words. I think, I am finally ready to publish my thoughts.

As humans, I think our brain is wired to rationalize everything. We need proof and reasons before anything else (especially kids now). When it comes to God, he isn’t seen or heard. So, how in the world can we have faith in him? The people before were often more accepting of the belief systems but, there is no way that the generation now will be convinced with mere belief. They would want to experience the truth themselves rather than simply being told what to believe.

I was raised with the belief that God is the creator of everything and that too for a reason. I guess this belief led me to hate HIM because why create me with less function. It made me avoid picturing God altogether because I didn’t wanna imagine someone I was feeling abandoned by. At home, we still used to have these statues and idols which were supposed to represent God, but they didn’t really help because they felt empty — like shapes without a presence or connection.

Years later, we started a meditation called Heartfulness. They told me that “you don’t have to like God or even believe in him.” But little did I know that I’d end up loving him later on. Once I started Heartfulness, I started feeling God - like a warmth arriving in my heart which was once soo cold. I don’t even have a need to picture him anymore because that feeling is everything. This meditation is like no other because it makes God experiential through transmission. God is like music. Neither can be seen nor touched, yet both must be experienced to be truly understood and enjoyed. Music is heard through the ears, while God is felt through the heart. 🤍🎶

In my opinion, God is a presence we can feel, a vibe that fills the room and a guidance that gently reroutes our direction when we make the wrong steps. He isn’t something we need to see but once we start feeling HIM, then it makes all the difference in our relationship with HIM

Maybe we need to begin to hate someone before we can truly start loving them - because love becomes real only when it survives the tension, the disappointment, the anger, the rupture. At least, that is my story with God. I don’t picture HIM anymore — I just feel Him, again and again, in the quiet place inside me. ✨ ✨

I hope I did justice to this question. Stay connected & See ya in the next :)
