What I wish I knew in my 20s: 20 Life Lessons
We should do all the things that scare us. (Trust me that’s what the 20s are for lol)
When it comes to family, forgiveness is way better than anger.
The ones who are meant to be with us, WILL
Stop explaining to the ones who don’t want to understand. (Not everyone deserves our explanation. Keeping our peace is way more important)
Follow and trust our heart more than anyone!
There is no shame in pausing life but we need to eventually come back and the way we do it is what actually matters!
Someone could have tried their best and still wounded us (We can’t vibe with everyone and that’s okay)
It’s a good sign if our current self is way different from our past self. It means we’re growing!
What happened might not have been in our hands but, how we heal is so, we need to focus on that.
Live in reality not, hope (I feel like being practical often helps us move forward more effectively than getting caught up in emotions but, I could be wrong. LMK)
Pity is the worst. It’s bad enough we get pity from others. We shouldn’t add ourselves! (We should get out of that victim mindset ASAP)
Cutting people off is not easy even if it was necessary! (Some people are like leeches that find pleasure in our dilemmas. It may take a while to know but, we need to bring that courage from within and leave)
No one has it better. Everyone is going through their fair share of challenges, and comparing pain is an absurd concept. (Many think the grass is greener on the other side, but one can never truly understand unless they go through it themselves!)
We can forgive and not give them a second chance (Forgiveness is not an approval of the behavior. It is for our own healing and no one else)
Make good memories on those triggering dates/places. Change the narrative (I mean that date will come every year so, might as well make laughing memories 🤷🏻♀️)
Life is about the inevitable. Suffering. Everyone is bound to suffer and how we get out of it is LIFE
Keeping our boundaries can make us feel icky but it’s so important for our sanity
We need to be careful with who we tell our weaknesses to. Some will use it to nurture us while other will use it against us.
We have to let go of something to make room for the good things
Heal what is within us so we don’t break the people who love us (A very very important one <3)
Let me know which of these is more relatable to you :) See ya in 2026 ✌🏻
